Housed in a 19th century grade
2 listed building this exhibition was commissioned by Kent County
Council to celebrate JMW Turner's association with Margate and to
raise awareness of the forthcoming Turner Contemporary Gallery,
a major new contemporary art venue scheduled to open in Margate
in 2007. Graphics were designed to reflect the groundbreaking nature
of JMW Turner's work. No panels are used, instead text and imagery
are applied directly to walls, floors and ceilings. Surprise elements
within the graphics help to reinforce the exhibition subtitle -
A way to see.
